## Why we chose it

We needed an ingredient that could do more with less. Pentylene Glycol allows us to keep the SILK NIACINAMIDE formula minimal while maximizing how well each active performs on your skin.

## Science notes

Bio-based from sugarcane. Dual hydroxyl groups create the humectant effect. Disrupts microbial cell membranes for gentle antimicrobial action. Low molecular weight enhances stratum corneum penetration. Approved for cosmetic use by both the FDA and EU. SILK NIACINAMIDE uses Pentylene Glycol instead of Propylene Glycol, keeping the formula bio-based throughout.
