Preservation
Sodium Benzoate
Extra care for our most active formula.
A nature-inspired preservative that provides an additional layer of protection for the formula's richer active profile, used far below EU permitted levels.
Found in: SILK NIACINAMIDE
What does Sodium Benzoate
An additional preservation layer for SILK NIACINAMIDE, which contains a richer profile of active proteins. Naturally occurring in fruits including cranberries, plums, and apples.
Why we chose Sodium Benzoate
SILK NIACINAMIDE contains nine ingredients, including Hydrolyzed Silk protein at a meaningful concentration. Active proteins benefit from additional microbial protection. Sodium Benzoate provides this at a level far below the EU maximum of 2.5%, working in full synergy with Phenoxyethanol and Ethylhexylglycerin.
Key benefits of Sodium Benzoate
Provides an additional layer of microbial protection for SILK NIACINAMIDE's richer ingredient profile. Naturally inspired: occurs in fruits like cranberries, plums, and apples. Gentle and well-tolerated by sensitive skin. Used as an approved food additive (E211) at much higher concentrations.
Science notes about Sodium Benzoate
Anticorrosive, masking, and preservative functions per PIF documentation. Only present in SILK NIACINAMIDE. Works in full synergy with Phenoxyethanol and Ethylhexylglycerin for comprehensive protection. Approved food additive at concentrations far exceeding cosmetic use levels. EU cosmetic maximum 2.5%.
